HOW TO POST YOUR PICTURES ON OUR FORUM STEP BY STEP

First of all you need to register to post on this subforum. It's very vast (no email confirmation needed) and absolutely free.

To post new topic click on "New Topic" at right upper corner.

Read carefully Intructions below if you have pictures of the shells you need to identify :

Uploading you pictures and Posting

If you want collectors to see your shells pictures, these have to be send on Internet. It's called "uploading". Before, collectors used to send me their shots and I had to do the job for them. But it takes really too much time for me and hold a lot of place on my website. Now you can do it by your own and it's really easy and fast. Here is how you can manage to do so.

Deux cases can be separated :

A/ First Case : You have your own homepage/website

1. Upload your pictures to your website/homepage like usual.

2. Then copy the final link (*)

Example of link : http://www.seashell-collector.com/pictures/monfils/ACTEON.jpg

3. Paste the link in your message that way :

- Click on Image Icon (eye one) or write by yourself : [img]

- Paste the link (Example : [img]http://www.seashell-collector.com/pictures/monfils/ACTEON.jpg)

- Click on Image Icon again or write by yourself : [/img]

=> Example : [img]http://www.seashell-collector.com/pictures/monfils/ACTEON.jpg[/img]

B/ Second Case : You do not have your own homepage/website

= Meaning You do not have the mean to host your pictures...

First Step : Uploading Your file (picture)

Fortunately Specialized websites exist for that purpose. It's free andvery fast ! Example : http://www.badongo.com/

Only 3 steps are required :

1. Browse your computer to choose the file you wish to share

2. Describe your file, review & agree to terms and click upload

3. Highlight and copy the link on next page (and paste it in your post) Ex: http://www.badongo.net/pic/230968

Second Step : Pasting the link in your post properly

Usually If you paste directely the link in your post it shall make the link active automatically but if it does not do this :

1. Create a new message(post) by clicking on "New Topic" at right upper corner

2. Write your request with the maximum details on the origin, size, etc...

3. Write this : [url]

4. Paste the link : [url]http://www.badongo.net/pic/230968

3. End link by writing this : [/url]

=> It must look like that : Example : [url]http://www.badongo.net/pic/230968[/url]

Note : If you want to write a description for the picture/link use this form : [url=LINK]TEXT[/url]

=> It must look like that : Example : [url=http://www.badongo.net/pic/230968]Here Is my Unid Shell[/url]

(*) The best way to avoid any link errors : with your browser point on the link. The picture should appear (if it's the right link). Then copy (Ctrl+C) the whole link after you hilighted it on your navigation Bar. If you do not see the picture, visitors of the forum will not too... To paste : CTRL+V.
