Sur la partie supérieure de chaque tour, un profond sillon sous-sutural sépare deux cordes spirales importantes. La supérieure est plus forte que l'inférieure. Le reste des tours est sillonné par des spires bien nettes.

Vivant dans le même milieu mais étant différente de par la coloration de son test, la T. langfordi (Pilsbry, 1921) est un synonyme correspondant à la forme rencontrée en Polynésie française.

On the upper part of each whorl, a deep subsututal groove separate two important spiral ribs. The superior is thicker than the inferior. The remaining of the worls is furrowed by distinct spires.

Living in the same habitat as but having a different shell color, T. langfordi (Pilsbry, 1921) is a synonym which correspond to the form of French Polynesia.
