Gem Centre Sea Shell

CONES DE POLYNESIE, POLYNESIAN CONIDAE
Author : David Touitou & Michel Balleton

Conus bandanus Hwass in Bruguière, 1792

Rareté : Peu commum
Habitat :

Taille moyenne : 60-80mm
Rarity : Uncommon
Habitat :

Usually present in the 15m deep zone outside of the reef. It can be also found in the lagoon, in shallow water or in the pass. This shell is often exposed dring day time, partially hidden under big coral formations.

Discussion : This is a very nice species wich may reach important lenght. The pattern is often scratched and huge GEM ones are very difficult to obtain.
Average size : 60-80mm
