Conus eburneus (Hwass in Bruguière, 1792)

Rareté : Très Commun
Habitat : Le plus souvent en bordure du rivage dans les zones sableuses. Il suffit de suivre les traces le jour. La nuit l'espèce se désable.
Discussion : Espèce très classique qui est de petite taille en Polynésie et souvent très claire, sans les bandes jaunes qui la caractérise normalement.
Taille moyenne : 25-40 mm
Rarity : Very common
Habitat : Most of the time it is found near the sandy shores, in shallow water. One must follow the trail on the sand and dig at both extremities to find the shell. During the night, this species can be found crawling on the sand though.
Discussion : It is a classic specie which has a small size in Polynesia. Here it is very clear and even if some specimens look like the forma polyglotta Weinkauf, most of the time they have few spots
and the yellow lines may be often absent.
Average size : 25-40 mm
