Conus pennaceus Born,1778

Rareté : Rare
Habitat : Les deux seuls spécimens que j'ai pu récolter, se trouvaient dans le lagon juste derrière le récif barrière.
Discussion : La validité de cette espèce en Polynésie reste à confirmer. Les spécimens récoltés pourraient être des variations de Conus magnificus & C. episcopatus. Sa présence aux îles Hawaï, prouve bien que cette espèce est présente dans le Pacifique. Affaire à suivre...
Taille moyenne : 40-50 mm
Rarity : Rare
Habitat : The only two specimens I found were in shallow water at the same reef. One live burrowed under a dead cora lplate and one fresh dead.
Discussion : The validity of this species is not certain. These specimens may be variations of Conus magnificus.
The validity of the taxon Conus pennaceus from Pacific is still discussed though.
Average size : 40-50 mm
