Introduction

It happens that two species belonging to the same genus are difficult to separate from a morphological point of view. This is the case of Virroconus coronatus (Gmelin, 1791) and Virroconus aristophanes (G. B. Sowerby II, 1857), two species present in the Indo-Pacific area.
